Attendance

Attending school is an important part of a child's development. Our school is a great place to come and learn! Our aim is for the whole school to have an attendance rate of 96% or above each week. To celebrate our achievements, we have a special assembly each week, where we award the class with the best attendance, a certificate. The class from FS/KS1 and KS2 with the best overall attendance in a year gets the opportunity to visit 'The Billingham South Ice cream Parlour'

YUM YUM!

Holidays

Amendments to the regulations with regard to School Attendance

On 1st September 2013 the Department for Education made amendments to regulations with regard to school attendance. Previously Head Teachers were allowed to grant leave of absence during term time of up to 10 days for family holidays, however this is no longer the case.

Under the new regulations Head Teachers are no longer allowed to authorise leave of absence for family holidays, during term time & taking unauthorised holidays may result in parents receiving a fine from the Local Authority.

Any leave of absence requests can only be authorised by the Head Teacher in exceptional circumstances.
