Rugby

On Wednesday 5th October, 16 children from Year 6 attended the Billingham Cluster Rugby Tournament at Northfield. During PE lessons the children have been learning the rules and techniques in preparation for the tournament. The two teams played some excellent rugby and even when things were not going our way, they remained upbeat and supportive of each other at all times; showing excellent sportsmanship and attitude.

Rugby

On September the 18th, Billingham South kicked off the Rugby World Cup by taking part in a thrilling tag rugby competition at Billingham Rugby Club. Their tenacity led them to better fortunes than our Home Nations team! Our Year Six team battled some tough matches and showed amazing teamwork skills. We were so proud to see their determination and their absolute desire to play a completely fair game.
Our Year Four athletes battled some impressive teams. They grew more and more confident as the matches progressed and ended up coming second in the competition.
We couldn't be prouder of the children. They showed impressive skills, competitiveness and also showed brilliant team work. Thank you to Billingham Rugby Club for organising such an inspiring event. We look forward to working with the club again.

On Wednesday 30th September, Billingham South Primary School entered 2 teams for the tag rugby competition, at Northfield School. Each team consisted of both Year 5 and 6 children and all children worked well together, motivating each other throughout the afternoon. The children thoroughly enjoyed competing against other schools and were keen to practise the skills they had learnt in their PE lessons.  All children gave 100% effort, showing great team work and sportsmanship during each match. The A team even manage to get a fabulous win against another team.

Well done everyone, fantastic team effort!!!!!
