December 2016

Age UK Christmas Party

Our school has a strong link with the local Community and we are currently forging further links within our Senior Community.  During December our children created Christmas cards, Christmas tree ornaments, calendars and a small cake to give to each Senior attending their annual Christmas party at St Cuthbert’s Church Hall, organised by Age UK.  A group of over twenty staff members and FOB’s team members attended to add support to the evening by helping with serving meals, clearing away and washing up.  The highlight of the evening the Seniors agreed was our school representatives - five of our children kindly gave up their evening to hand out the gifts and share conversations with the Seniors.

"I can honestly say we’ve never had so many willing hands – thank you. I’m so very grateful for your support and know that the everything that you are doing will be so gratefully appreciated by everyone but particularly by the senior citizens – it’s time out to spoil them and let them know we appreciate them too."
