Hancock Museum Visit

Year 5 went to visit The Hancock Museum to learn more about the Ancient Egyptians. Whilst at the museum the children found out facts about hieroglyphics, pyramids and even saw a real mummy! They also explored the planetarium and were involved in a workshop about survival in Mars, which links with their Space science topic. A WOW moment was when the children held an actual piece of meteorite (something which was described as the oldest object they will ever touch!)

The Ministry of Science Show was a show filled with lots of live experiments that Y5 were lucky enough to go along and see. They witnessed liquid nitrogen filling the stage as well as balloon explosions involving hydrogen. The children had a fantastic time but had to block their ears a few times as the bangs were very explosive!
