Young Americans

From 10-13 March, 17 of our Y6 pupils took part in the “Young Americans” visit to our transition partner school: Northfield School and Sports College. The event was funded using Pupil Premium. Mrs Edwards, Mr Squire, Mrs Jackson, Mrs Pawlett and Mrs Marshall all accompanied the children at various times during the three days. They were very long days but the children had a wonderful time learning and practising songs and dances from the last 90 years including hits by The Beatles; songs from musicals such as The Lion King and Annie and opportunities from Drama and Beat Boxing as well. The children learned so much from their “Young American” mentors and teachers who instilled confidence and excitement in our pupils with their blend of positivity, energy and dynamism. The photographs accompanying this article or from the dress rehearsal. The show took place on Thursday 13th and was absolutely stunning. You can see from the pictures that the children had a wonderful time and although they were sad to say goodbye to the “Young Americans”, they collected plenty of autographs and fantastic memories over the course of the 3 days.
