We have teamed up with TVMS (Tees Valley Music Service) to bring some extra musical flair to our topic work. Throughout the school year, all year groups will get the chance to take part in a music workshop delivered by specialists. Amongst other areas, we will be exploring Pirates, Carnivals, the Blue Abyss and a Frozen Kingdom through music.

Weather Workshop

The children in Reception thoroughly enjoyed their music workshop about weather. They learnt a number of new songs, played a variety of instruments and made their own musical compositions. They proudly performed their compositions in front of their friends. Thank you for a super workshop Mr Harbisher!

Land Ahoy!

Year 2

Y2 took part in a workshop all about pirates to link with our topic Land Ahoy! We listened to some classical pieces of music and thought about differences and similarities between the pieces. Mr Harbisher told us all about pulse and rhythm. We were also given some tips about how to stand properly when you were singing. At the end, we had lots of fun singing sea-shanties.

Frozen Kingdom

Year 6

The Y6 children took part in a workshop all about a Frozen Kingdom. They got the chance to play some musical instruments and sung some icy themed songs. The children also had a look at notation and rhythm.
