Bugsy Malone

55 of our KS2 children shone so brightly on the stage of the SynthoniaTheatre in Billingham South's production of Bugsy Malone. They showed determination and resilience,  rehearsing to become the very best they could be. The standing ovations there were given  each night was testament to their incredible talent and the pride felt by family, friends, staff and the wider community.
Well done to all the amazingly talented children who took part- you certainly showed that 'you could be anything that you wanted to be.......'

Parliament Education Service

Last week (4th - 8th July), I was lucky enough to work closely with 70 other teachers from around the country and learn all about Parliament and how it works. We had speeches and Q&A sessions with many influential people such as Rt Hon John Bercow MP, Rt Hon. the Baroness D'Souza and Baron Lisvane, a former clerk of the House of Commons. This valuable experience gave us the opportunity to find out all about Parliament and discuss our ideas with fellow teaching professionals. British Values - democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance for those with different faiths and beliefs are values we regard very highly at Billingham South. British Values were of massive importance during the week and here at Billingham South we are looking to increase our childrens' knowledge of these key aspects of our life in Britain.  We are now working towards our Silver Ambassador badge in collaboration with the Parliament Education Service.
